Day by day
Day 1 · Arrival & first golden hour
3 STOPSLand, settle into the Oltrarno neighborhood, and let the first evening be unhurried.
- Check in near Santo Spirito. Base yourselves on the Oltrarno side of the river — quieter, more local, and a short walk from everything.
- Ponte Vecchio at golden hour. Walk it as the light turns amber and the goldsmith shops start closing their shutters — the calmest it gets all trip.
- Dinner in Piazza Santo Spirito. Outdoor tables, no tourist menus in three languages — a real neighborhood square to ease into Florence.
Day 2 · Duomo, Uffizi, and a rooftop aperitivo

- 9:00Climb the Duomo. 463 steps to Brunelleschi's dome for a view over every terracotta roof in the city — go early, before the heat and the crowds.
- 13:00Uffizi Gallery. Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Michelangelo, room after room — a timed-entry ticket saves hours of queueing.
- 19:00Rooftop aperitivo. Spritz in hand, watch the dome catch the last light from a terrace bar near Piazza della Repubblica.
Day 3 · Gardens, Oltrarno, and sunset at San Miniato
3 STOPSThe slow day — gardens in the morning, wandering in the afternoon, the best view in Florence at dusk.
- 10:00Boboli Gardens. Statues, fountains, and shaded gravel paths behind the Pitti Palace — Florence's greenest, quietest corner.
- 15:00Wander San Niccolò. Artisan workshops and wine bars along one of the least-touristed streets in the historic center.
- 19:30Sunset at San Miniato al Monte. Climb above Piazzale Michelangelo to the church steps — the whole city and the hills beyond it, lit up gold.
Day 4 · Market breakfast & departure
3 STOPSOne last real meal before the airport — leave time to get lost on purpose.
- 9:00Mercato Centrale. Breakfast pastry downstairs among the produce stalls, then coffee upstairs in the food hall.
- Santa Croce. Michelangelo and Galileo are buried here — worth the detour even if you skip every other church this trip.
- Last walk over Ponte Vecchio. One more crossing before the airport — this time just to look, not to plan.
